Membership Committee
The Membership Committee shall obtain applications and approve requests for membership in AHRMA and extend an official welcome to new members. The Committee recruits members and assists in the development of strategies for promoting membership in AHRMA and SHRM. The Chairperson of this Committee shall be appointed by the Vice President of Membership who shall oversee the activities of this Committee.

Our Mission
The Membership Committee is dedicated to an effective membership process that strives to promote inclusion and engagement of members and connects local chapter with resources available from national association, SHRM.
Objective
Increase membership, member satisfaction and membership revenue.
Goals
- Retain 75% of current membership during renewal
- Maintain AHRMA as a Super- Mega 1000+ member chapter
- Organize a prospective membership event that targets SHRM-at-large members and non-traditional HR professionals
- Membership drive that grows SHRM membership and SHRM by 5%
- Identify and connect members with the individually desired resources/benefits that resulted in AHRMA membership
- Increase opportunities for engaging new members with organization within first three months of membership
Committee Volunteer Opportunities
- SHRM Liaison - Promotes the benefits of belonging to the Society of Human Resource Management to all HR professionals.
- SHRM Champion - Promotes SHRM Foundation through education and involvement by increasing awareness throughout AHRMA.
- Membership Ambassador - Welcomes new members and provides answers to questions regarding AHRMA membership.
- Membership BLOG Chair - Keep the members of AHRMA informed of developments within committee on AHRMA blog.
- Membership Referral - Promote referral of new members with current membership base.
- Prospective Member Chair - Maintain involvement with HR professionals that have expressed an interest in AHRMA.
- Volunteer Placement Chair - Promote benefits of volunteerism amongst members.
- Orientation Chair - Lead the planning and implementation of quarterly New Member Orientation
Membership Committee Programs
- New Member Orientation - To provide an opportunity to learn about the vast resources AHRMA has to offer.
- SHRM Liaison - Promotes the benefits of belonging to the Society of Human Resource Management to all HR professionals. The SHRM Liaison promotes membership in SHRM and participation in SHRM programs and facilitates communications between AHRMA and SHRM. The SHRM Liaison shall maintain contact with the SHRM Texas State Council Chair and District Director. The SHRM Liaison is a special appointment by the VP of Membership, who coordinates the appointee's activities.
- SHRM Champion - Promotes SHRM Foundation through education and involvement by increasing awareness throughout AHRMA.
- Volunteer Coordination - Promotes the benefits of volunteerism amongst members. Coordinates member volunteer interests with each AHRMA committee.
- Prospective Member Program: Maintain involvement with HR professionals that have expressed an interest in AHRMA. Promotes membership drives.
