AHRMA Specialty Programs
AHRMA is dedicated to developing Human Resource professionals, providing opportunities to its members in its mission to promote professionalism, effectiveness, and understanding in the Human Resource Management field by offering members a wide variety of professional development opportunities and a common forum for sharing ideas and experiences and exchanging information in addressing current Human Resource issues.
AHRMA serves its members in the delivery of a variety of specialty programs and educational programming at monthly AHRMA meetings offering HRCI credentialed sessions allowing members to develop their expertise in the functional areas of Human Resource Management and fostering increased awareness and understanding of the Human Resource profession.
Programs available to AHRMA members for professional development opportunities are listed below.
Monthly AHRMA Meetings - Each month, a full day of HRCI credentialed professional development sessions are coordinated and facilitated for the purpose of offering human resource related learning opportunities for members of AHRMA as well as to create awareness of human resource related issues and emerging new ideas relevant to the human resource profession.

Certification Program - AHRMA supports the benefits of professional certification by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) through the coordination of study groups and advisement with test application, study materials, and resources.
Karl B. Zimmerman Scholarship Program - AHRMA annually awards scholarships to two individuals who are endeavoring to obtain degrees which relate to the human resource field. Preference will be given to students with documented involvement and/or work experience in Human Resource Management.
Legislative Affairs Round Table Topics - Facilitated for Monthly AHRMA Meetings related to Human Resource legislative issues.
Mentoring Program - Opportunities for AHRMA members to share their knowledge with one another through either being a Mentor, giving back to the profession mentoring others, or being a Mentee, benefitting from the knowledge and experience of Mentors. The AHRMA mentoring program increases Human Resource competencies through learning engagements, bridging skill gaps, and reaching across disciplines in order to build the Human Resource professional's skill set.
Stepping Stones to Enhanced Leadership is a creative and innovative program designed, developed, and implemented to meet the professional development needs of individual members of AHRMA, provide HRCI recertification credit, create a pipeline of emerging leaders for AHRMA’s Board of Directors succession planning, and meet employers needs for improvement of employee engagement, retention, and professional development. An innovative program designed to enhance emerging leader skill sets, offer advanced professional development needs to AHRMA members, and create a pipeline for succession planning to AHRMA's Board of Directors.
Themed AHRMA Meetings - At various times throughout the year, themed days are organized around special topics to deliver a broad range of information and developmental opportunities. Themed days include Diversity Day, Benefits Blitz Day, Workforce Readiness Day, and Legislative Action Day.
Annual Conference - The annual AHRMA Conference provides valuable, educational resources to HR professionals and those who support the profession. The conference is a two-day event organized to provide valuable and educational resources to Human Resource professionals and continuous education opportunities for AHRMA members.
