FEATURED VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:


Communications Committee

  • Blog Team:  Facilitates and edits blog posts and comments, making the blog the primary source for AHRMA news and information.
  • Multimedia Team:  Takes photos/podcasts of events and posts them online so they can be linked to the blog, website, and social networking sites. Helps to manage the photo galleries.
  • Technology Training Coordinator & Trainers:  Coordinates and/or provides training to volunteers & membership on AHRMA technologies.

Diversity Committee

The Diversity Committee is looking for 5-6 volunteers who have a passion for diversity initiatives. Duties/responsibilities include: 

  • Ability to attend local events/meetings related to diversity and inclusion.
  • Assist in the development, design and implementation of projects/programs.
  • Ability to write articles.
  • Monthly hourly commitment is roughly 3-4 hours a month.

Workforce Readiness Committee

The Workforce Readiness Committee is always looking for people to volunteer for:

  • Workforce readiness planning
  • Curriculum development
  • Conduct presentations at schools, career fairs, and speaker's bureau

Mentor Committee


The below volunteer opportunities entail a 4-6 hour monthly commitment. The committee meets once a month for 1-1/2 hours. As needed, teleconferences are substituted with face-to-face meetings.

 

Quality Rep

  • Survey development (or refinement).
  • Present data to the team.
  • Lead committee the quality team in a monthly Q/A effort to ensure the integrity of the program).

 

Logistic Rep

  • Select venues for events (mixer, orientations).
  • Coordinate the planning of events in terms of scheduling location, and food.
  • Develop innovative approaches in marketing the program.
  • Develop communications through various venues.
  • Coordinate with AHRMA on distributing communications, such as the monthly newsletters, e-blast, and meeting flyers.

Conference Committee

  • Volunteer opportunities forthcoming

Program's Committee

  • Publicity – Works with Communications Committee and local news outlets to publicize programs – monthly hour commitment (5hrs.)
  • Speakers – Leads in Program Development, including themes, and speaker search & selection, and brings recommendations to Programs Committee- monthly hour commitment (5hrs.)
  • HRCI Pre-Approval – Coordinates pre-approval applications through HRCI for all qualified programs
  • Meeting Sponsors – Secures table sponsors for themed meetings and coordinates sponsorship activities with the AHRMA office – Collaboration with Conference Committee - monthly hour commitment (5hrs.)
  • Miscellaneous Opportunities – Assist in all topic areas as needed (monthly hour commitment 3 hrs.)
    • Collection of response cards – place a box at the meeting for collection and draw for a prize to be mailed out
    • Meet and Greet Speaker
    • Certification Committee: Chair - Coordinate and manage all aspects of the course. Coordinate facilitators for Spring/Fall PHR and SPHR course. Ensure AHRMA website is updated with class schedule and escalates the ordering of SHRM Learning Systems and facilitators materials. Ensure instructors have appropriate materials, exams, and training aids. Develop, design, and measure end of course survey. Interpret/analyze data from surveys and initiate change as needed. (Monthly hour commitment – 10hrs)

Volunteer Committee

  • Volunteer Coordinator Back Up: This person would work with the chair and be able to help with the duties of the chair during her absence or schedule conflicts. (Monthly time commitment: Up to 2 hours)
  • Volunteer Committee Member: This person would work with the chair and backup to provide ideas, collaboration, and extra band width to make the volunteer process more effective.  Ideally this person would have some technical skills to help generate and maintain a volunteer database.  (Monthly time commitment: Up to 2 hours)
