Austin SHRM call for speakers

Austin SHRM is accepting proposals from Speakers who wish to present at our Austin SHRM Annual Conference and our upcoming monthly meetings.

About AUSTIN SHRM

Austin SHRM is a not-for-profit association of over 700 human resource professionals in the greater Austin area representing hundreds of businesses. Formed in 1950, Austin SHRM is a top chapter of the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and has been awarded Superior Merit Awards for the past several years as well as the prestigious Pinnacle Award.  Austin SHRM is the premier association driving the Human Resource profession to a level that is critical to organizational success. We develop professionals and provide opportunities to contribute to each other, our organization, and our communities.

Speaker Selection Guidelines

Austin SHRM does not compensate for Conference or Monthly Meeting Speakers. The size of, and decision-making authority of the audience and membership, provide an outstanding opportunity for speakers to increase their visibility and establish valuable contacts within the Central Texas HR community.

Consideration will be brought before the Executive Committee for travel expense reimbursements (one night hotel stay, mileage, etc.) for individuals presenting content for more than 4 hours.

Presentations are reviewed by the respective committees and are evaluated based on proposed topic, relevance, and overall quality of content and relatedness to the HR profession, originality, and educational value, as well as Presenter’s professional speaking skills and references.  It is Austin SHRM’s intent to submit all presentations to the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) and SHRM to achieve strategic or general credit for the benefit of attendees. Austin SHRM will work with all Speakers to obtain the necessary information to submit presentations for credit.
